Do you live in Belgium?

If you have unintentionally become unemployed without pay, you are entitled to a tideover allowance under the social security regime for seafarers. To be eligible, you must register on the Pool List as a jobseeker.

Category A

You are entitled to a tideover allowance under category A if, during the twenty-four-month period preceding the application, you worked in Belgian merchant shipping three hundred working days.

Category B

You can request the form online via the digital counter.

Do you live outside the EEA?

For information about unemployment, you should contact the authorities in your country of residence. You are not entitled to Belgian unemployment benefit.
